I was going to post a 'weekend roundup' post today but, for me, the highlight of my weekend was this:
As a true Harry Potter fan, all I can say is: WOW
I struggled to get tickets in my town so eventually ended up at a late showing in a nearby town, all adding to the anticipation!
At the end, I wanted to cry, cheer, stand up and applaud.
I thought it was fantastic, I can't believe it is all over. I have a plan though, when September comes and the air gets a bit crisper, the nights a little darker and my house is all lamplit- I am going to start the books again from the beginning. An Autumn of Magic- I can't wait.
Keeping Calm and Carrying On since before it was cool

Weekend Gardening
I have a small back yard that I am working hard to turn into a lovely container garden. These are my inspiration pictures
I am a long way from making it look anything as lovely as these but I am enjoying all the work to get it there, especially I am not a natural gardener and know NOTHING about how to do it properly!

Weekend Reading
These two books for young adults have gone home with me this weekend- they have been highly recommended by the school librarian. I love having something great to read that keeps you hooked!

Planning
My sister and I have an ongoing quest for the perfect diary/ planning device.
We have spent years searching for, buying and even making them.
I think I have hit on a winning formula though with my current planner:
Lovely monthly pages I took out of a very pretty folk art diary
And sections, with dividers and pretty pictures to keep me happy.
I carry it around with me and am often seen in cafes making lists, I do love a list.

Tim Curry
Tim Curry has been my favourite actor/ possible future husband since I was about 12.
Ever since I saw him in 'Clue' (which is brilliant)I have watched everything he has ever been in.
I even love him when he is in scary films.
He has also been in my 2 most favourite shows ever : 'Psych' and 'Criminal Minds'
In these two shows, he demonstrated his excellent comic timing and his ability to be TERRIFYING.
He has also been involved with Muppets which is never a bad thing.
I think that if Tim ever reads this blog, he should consider me to be his personal assistant, here are the reasons why:
1. I know all his films and TV work (but not in a stalky way)
2. I am a secondary school teacher so I am organised, able to deal with challenging situations, and have had a full background check which revealed I am NOT a criminal.
3. I am British, so I would be a breath of fresh air in LA, we could talk about things that are British, like Marmite, teabags, Coronation St and walking briskly to work across Tower Bridge whilst wearing a bowler hat.
4. I am good around celebrities- I once saw William Shatner at the Harvester and did not even bat an eye.
Anyway, Tim, if you are reading- please consider my application.
Thank You

In exactly three weeks today, I will be in an aeroplane jetting off on holiday.
I am beyond excited.
I still need to :
Order my travel money
Do a full list of clothes to take
Print out my confirmation emails re airport parking
Have my hair cut
Activate my credit card for abroad
Oh yes, that last one is very important.

Catatonic
There is a cat that lives in my street that looks a little bit like this:
And this cat, very regularly pretends to be dead.
When I drive up to my driveway after work, this cat is often lying somewhere in positions that make him look dead. He also chooses very strange places to lie, which again adds to the overall dead vibe.
So, with the knowledge that on the day I DON'T get out of my car to check, he really will be dead, every day, I get out of the car, and go and ask him if he is alright.
At which point, he gives an accusatory 'mew' and runs off in an over-dramatic way, as if I were doing something awful to him.
Cats.
You can't trust them.
