In Pursuit of Elegance

Ever since I was a teenager, I have longed for the perfect capsule wardrobe. Hours of poring over magazine articles like "One sarong, 40 looks" and " The only skirt you'll ever need" have left me on a quest to own hardly any clothes, yet effortlessly turn them into outfits for any occasion. ( to be frank, Gok Wan hasn't helped)
I do have evidence of the elusive capsule wardrobe in action. I have a VERY elegant friend (lets call her KC for now) who owns very few clothes yet manages somehow to look: elegant, current and appropriate for any occasion while I look like I had a Bon Marche voucher that needed spending.
How does she do it?
I'm also pretty sure she has never tried to knot a sarong into a shorts and turban beach outfit.

Down by the sea

I do believe the best way to spend a misty drizzling August evening is feeling the spray of the sea on your face. Two friends sitting on a rock watching the determined surfers catching the last waves of the day.

Unless of course, that same August day brings a lottery win, a mansion in Sandbanks and a marriage proposal from Tim Curry, then THAT would be the best way to spend an evening of misty drizzle.
